Our story begins in the 1970s with the purchase of Rancho do Sossego by Hamilton Chagas (Miltinho), located in the municipality of São Sebastião do Anta, on the Águas Claras stream. The place would initially be for the family to rest on the weekends. A short time later coffee started to be planted, with the species catuaí vermelho and amarelo mundo novo, and the rancho do sossego became a source of extra income for the family, but still maintains its initial purpose to this day.  The passion for coffee grew, and new land was acquired for the property, which then became Fazenda do Sossego.

As the years went by, the cultivation and spacing techniques were improved, giving the opportunity to plant a larger number of seedlings. With the increase in cultivation, the processes of post-harvest fruit processing were modernized with the construction of cemented
terraces for drying, acquisition of rotary dryers, construction of a masonry vat for storage, washer and pulper, and symmetrical table. Such equipment has been modernized and/or replaced. Currently, the property is a family consortium managed by one of the sons-in-law, Waldir Ferreira Viana, and its cultivation and processing is focused on commodity coffee and specialty coffees. In the specialty coffees, Waldir counts on the partnership of his wife and daughters. The family has been striving to make the beans with increasingly higher quality. For the drying of the specialty coffees, the farm has covered, suspended greenhouse-type terraces, built specifically for this purpose. The treatment of the beans continues after the drying and humidity control, with the passing through the sieve 16 above and separation of the beans with some imperfection.

In our cultivations we follow the technical orientation of an Agronomist Engineer, Fabiano Pires, a qualified and competent professional
from our region.
